Reminder: The referral needs to be created with your team as the owner (Referred To) before it can be passed on to another team. (See Pass Referral to Another Team section of the Log a Referral article). If you do not select your team, you will not see the Pass Ownership referral Action Type.
The current status of a Referral must be OPEN ON DUTY / SCREENING in order to pass ownership. You cannot pass ownership once a Referral has been allocated.

Referrals Passed in Error
- When you pass ownership of a Referral to an incorrect team, contact them immediately upon realizing the error and request they pass the referral back to your team. If they have already allocated the referral, request they discharge the referral as Entered in Error. You then need to recreate the referral against your own team and then pass it to the correct team.
- You receive an incorrectly passed referral at your Team, DO NOT DISCHARGE THE REFERRAL. Pass ownership of the referral back to the Team that sent it to you and notify them via PARIS of the error. Mark the Notification as Important.
