1. Use the Casenote Type Immunization Casenote to record information that impacts future immunizations. There should only be ONE running Immunization Casenote.
- When you are creating a new Immunization Casenote and one already exists in the system, this warning message appears:
Immunization Alert - Immunization Casenote Present
The first time you save an Immunization Casenote, the system automatically creates an Immunization Alert of Immunization Casenote present.
The system also leaves a bread crumb in the Immunization Casenote telling you when the alert was created.
Immunization Casenotes SHOULD capture details related to:
- Discussions with client or parent related to concerns about immunization
- Additional details related to a CHN/PHN’s rationale/assessment for an Immunization Alert
- Clinical care arising from an immunization event
- For example: Your response to anaphylaxis,
- Information that impacts future immunizations for a child
- Details of blood tests ordered for immunity under the MHO (Immunity results will entered for specific antigens in Antigen History)
- Details about schedules that fall outside the recommended scheduled
Immunization Casenotes should NOT be used to capture:
- Phone calls to parents to obtain immunization history
- The details of how you treated an injury that happen at the time the child is was immunized. This should be recorded in a progress note.
For Example: Nursing care provide after client fainted and hit his/her head - Adverse Event follow-up. - This should be recorded in the “A.E.F.I Entry” page.
