The General Communicable Disease (CD) Entry application is used to record the contact investigation work for all communicable diseases excluding TB and HIV. This application allows clinicians to save a list of contacts, along with their respective investigation details, for each index case. The General CD Search application is read-only and is used to search for an existing case, contacts, and group contacts before making edits in the General CD Entry tile.
Unlike other areas in PARIS where specific client identifiers are required, contacts entered in this application can be anonymous. This enables contact investigation and documentation to proceed even if the contact’s name, date of birth, gender, or address is unknown.
Information entered in this application is not saved to a client’s PARIS record, regardless of whether a contact’s PARIS ID is used to pull their demographics into the application (see Add or Edit a Contact for more details).
